Impressive Effort on Pike's Peak Jean Harano, aged 65 from Colorado Springs, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 4:58:27. The overall pace was 22:20 min/mile across 13.36 miles, ranking 972nd out of 2049 participants. Notably, Jean secured the 17th place in the O65-69 division. The early stages showed promising momentum with an impressive split pace of 8:53 at Ruxton. Jean maintained a consistent performance until reaching the 7.8 Summit at an elevation of 9461 feet. From there, the increasing altitude led to a pace shift, with the last half-mile being completed at a 36:14 pace. Despite the challenging ascent and final three miles above the tree line, Jean's strategic pacing and tenacity were evident throughout the race. Using the data gathered from this performance can help fine-tune pacing strategies, particularly in the higher altitude sections.
