Consistent Performance Despite Challenging Terrain Pat Casterline completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 2:56:04, covering a distance of 13.36 miles with an average pace of 13:10 min/mile. This placed Pat 40th overall and 4th in the division for ages 35-39. Notably, Pat maintained strong positions despite the steep elevation gain from approximately 6303 to 14061 feet. Pat moved from 5th at the start to 40th by the finish, highlighting the race's demands. Comparison with the 2024 performance shows a slight increase in elapsed time from 2:50:37 to 2:56:04. A focused analysis reveals split variances, especially in the final miles above the tree line. Pat's pace dropped to 21:58 min/mile at the finish from starting splits as fast as 6:14 and 7:45 min/mile.
