Consistent Performance in High Altitude Challenge Ben Weimer completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 4:46:24, covering a distance of 13.36 miles with an average pace of 21:26 min/mile. Notable early pace at Ruxton with a split of 7:58 min/mile reflects his strong start, placing him 237th overall. As expected, the course elevation gain from 6,303 to 14,061 feet resulted in a gradual slowdown, evidenced by the challenging segments like "1.5 Miles To Go", where Ben's split pace reached 33:05 min/mile. Progressing up through the altitude and steep terrain, Ben maintained a commendable position, finishing 827th out of 2049 participants and 62nd in his age division. The split consistency throughout is encouraging, particularly his resilience during the above-tree-line sections. A key focus could be maintaining or slightly improving pace in steep, high-altitude segments, as his split pace increased significantly from "Top of W's" onwards. Continued work on handling altitude changes effectively can enhance his performance in future races.
