Consistent Performance with Room for Speed Adjustments Dennis Underwood completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in an elapsed time of 5:52:54, covering the 13.36-mile distance at an average pace of 26:24 min/mile. Starting strongly, his initial pace at Ruxton averaged 11:25 min/mile, indicating an energetic beginning. As the race unfolded, fluctuations in pace were observed. The segment to Hydro Street marked a speedier split at 14:50 min/mile, but subsequent stretches presented challenges, with notable declines in pace, especially above the 10,000-foot elevation. The latter half of Dennis's race shows a concentration of slower segments due to high altitude conditions, particularly in the final three miles, which averaged paces above 30 min/mile. Despite deceleration, his commitment remained evident through tough stretches like the "1.5 Miles To Go" mark where he clocked a 36:27 min/mile pace.
