Consistency and Determination to the Peak Margot Morris showcased impressive consistency and determination in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent. Completing the race in 6:15:33, Margot achieved an average pace of 28:06 min/mile over the 13.36-mile distance. The challenging ascent, beginning at 6,303 feet and ending at 14,061 feet, did see Margot's performance affected in the last three miles, where altitude and fatigue naturally set in, exemplified by the final split at a pace of 40:22 min/mile. Upon reaching various milestones like the "Ruxton" mark with a pace of 14:35 min/mile and "Hydro Street" at 16:32 min/mile, her early strategy showed promise. Elevation gains did influence pace, as seen at "Bottomless Pit" and "A-Frame" with splits at 45:36 and 35:20 min/mile respectively. Margot's ability to push through, even when faced with significant altitude, is commendable. Focusing on pacing strategies during incline transitions may enhance future performances.
