Persistent Performance Amidst Altitude Challenges Paul Weisgarber, 37, from Colorado Springs, completed the daunting 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with a total elapsed time of 3:46:17 over 13.36 miles, resulting in an average pace of 16:56 per mile. Despite placing 256th overall out of 2049 participants, Paul showed consistent effort throughout the challenging elevation gain from 6303 to 14061 feet. Paul commenced the race strong, reaching Ruxton with a swift pace of 8:37 per mile. As expected with ascents, pace decelerated, notably from Bottomless Pit to A-Frame where the pace recorded was 22:00 per mile. A remarkable boost in effort was seen between the last splits, especially between "2 Miles To Go" and "1.5 Miles To Go," where his standing improved markedly to 127th overall. It might be beneficial in future endeavors to maintain earlier split consistency in steeper gradients to further enhance performance.
