Consistent Pace Despite Elevation Challenge Maxwell Friedmann completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 2:58:43, covering a distance of 13.36 miles at an average pace of 13:22 minutes per mile. His performance saw him place 47th overall out of 2049 participants, and 12th in his division (Open 30-34). Notably, he consistently maintained a strong position in his early splits, even securing the 18th overall position at the Hydro Street checkpoint with a pace of 7:11 minutes per mile. Maxwell's splits indicate remarkable early speed, as evidenced by a split pace of 5:58 minutes per mile from the start to Ruxton. The ascent from "2.5 Miles To Go" to the finish became noticeably challenging, with pace gradually increasing from 16:19 to 21:11 minutes per mile. Despite this, he demonstrated determination and maintained a position within the top quarter of the field. Moving forward, focusing on maintaining mid-climb pace in high-altitude segments could offer additional advantages.
