Steady Climb in the Pikes Peak Ascent Krissi Mill completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon with an impressive finish time of 5:00:21. She maintained a solid pace across the 13.36-mile course, averaging 22:28 per mile. Among a field of 2049, Krissi ranked 995th overall and achieved a commendable 41st place in the F40-44 age division. Her performance was consistent, particularly in the latter, more challenging stages above 12,000 feet. She showed commendable progress from the start, where she was initially in 60th place within her division. Krissi's strategic patience was evident in her early splits, gradually improving her placement as the race progressed. Her split pace varied, from a quick 10:58 min/mile at the Ruxton checkpoint to the challenging 30:03 min/mile near the altitude-straining last one and a half miles. Notably, Krissi excelled at the "1.5 Miles To Go" mark, advancing to 550th overall, reflecting her strong finish mindset. Continued focus on altitude acclimatization could further enhance future performances.
