Steady Progress with Late Stage Surge Helena Murray completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 4:58:45. The 30-year-old runner from Seattle demonstrated steady pacing throughout the 13.36-mile race, maintaining a pace of 22:21 minutes per mile. Notably, Helena improved her position from 1,680th at the start to 977th overall by the finish. Her performance shone through in her division—she ranked 45th among females aged 30-34 and 285th among female competitors overall. Helena showed significant movement during early splits. At the Ruxton split, with a rapid 9:47 minute per mile pace, she advanced to 886th place overall. As she tackled the second half of the course, Helena navigated challenging high-altitude sections effectively. The most prominent improvement came between "1 Mile To Go" and the finish, gaining positions despite a grueling 32:34 minute per mile split at an elevation higher than 14,000 feet.
