Strong Start, Steady Climb, Consistent Finish Kevyn Kelso completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 5:10:56, maintaining an average pace of 23:16 per mile across the trail run. Starting strong, Kevyn ranked 138th overall at the start with a time of 3:47 for the first 0.43 miles at Ruxton, showcasing an impressive 8:49 pace. By Barr Camp, at 7.91 miles, Kevyn’s pace of 14:45 facilitated a climb in placement, securing the spot at 772 overall. Traversing the higher altitudes, particularly above the tree line after 10.29 miles at A-Frame, slowed progress with paces ranging from 28:52 to 34:29 up to the 12.83-mile point. The consistent finish reflected determination, clocking in at 29:20 pace for the final half-mile, ending the ascent at 14,061 feet in elevation. While ranking 69th in the division and 756th in gender overall, focusing on managing altitude adjustments could further enhance performance in future ascents.
