Consistent Performance with Strategic Elevation Gains Adam Rabo, age 37 from Colorado Springs, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 3:41:39. Averaging a 16:35 min/mile pace over the 13.36-mile course, Adam was consistently strong in his division, securing 29th place out of the 237 competitors aged 35-39. Notably, Adam began the race steadily, improving from 1,252nd at the start to 229th by the finish among a total of 2,049 participants. The early splits were promising, with a particularly impressive opening at Ruxton in just 3:21 (7:47 min/mile pace) and consistently holding a strong position until the mid-race. Approaching higher elevations, Adam maintained a steady effort, demonstrating resilience as the course climbed beyond 12,000 feet. The last challenging miles, including the ascent from "1 Mile To Go" to "Finish," saw pace adjustments, indicative of smart adaptation to increasing elevation. Focusing on these sections could enhance performance in future races.
