Consistent Effort with a Challenging Elevation Gain Paul Homan completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon with an elapsed time of 4:36:30, maintaining a pace of 20:41 min/mile over 13.36 miles. Starting from an elevation of 6,303 feet, the course led him through significant altitude changes, peaking at 14,061 feet. His performance showcased consistency in early splits, particularly at the Ruxton and Hydro Street markers, where he made notable gains in positioning. Compared to his 2024 race, where he clocked a time of 4:10:10, Paul's overall rank for this year was 722 out of 2049 participants. He placed 65th in the O45-49 division, and notable splits include a strong start, placing 651 at Ruxton. However, maintaining energy above the tree line could improve subsequent splits. Such refining focus on the final stretch can enhance overall time and rank. Every race provides valuable experience for the next, and using this data can help fine-tune future performances.
