Strong Initial Pace, Consistent Elevation Performance Joseph showcased a balanced performance in the challenging 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent. The ascent covered a 13.36-mile trail, climbing from 6,303 feet to a peak elevation of 14,061 feet. Joseph completed the race with an elapsed time of 4:21:26, maintaining an average pace of 19:34 minutes per mile. Notably, he finished 30th in his division (O50-54) amidst 2049 participants, a commendable achievement given the high-altitude challenges. Joseph's race began optimally, with a strong pace of 7:59 at Ruxton, placing him 9th in his division. As he progressed towards more demanding sections, especially beyond the tree line, paces varied, notably a split pace of 24:04 at the "2.5 Miles To Go" marker. His placement improved significantly nearing the end, such as placing 20th in his division at the "1.5 Miles To Go" point. Maintaining steadiness in high-altitude sections could be the focus for future progress.
