Consistent Effort with Strong Mid-Race Performance Matt Wildman completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 3:54:21 over a distance of 13.36 miles, managing an average pace of 17:32 min/mile. Among 2049 participants, he placed 320th overall, 255th in the Open category for gender, and 31st in his age division of 25-29. Notably, from the start, Matt moved from his starting position of 399th to 156th over the critical last 1.5 miles to the "1.5 Miles To Go" mark. The elevation increased steadily from the beginning at 6303 feet to 14061 feet at the finish. Matt demonstrated impressive endurance with a marked acceleration between the "Hydro Street" and "Barr Camp" splits, significantly improving his position. The last miles were slower, particularly the segment between "1 Mile To Go" and the finish line, suggesting a potential focus area in adapting to altitude in future races.
