Consistent Performance with Room for Improvements Near Summit Teslin Stecher delivered a commendable performance at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon, completing the challenging 13.36-mile course with an elapsed time of 3:23:51. Starting strong, Teslin achieved a swift pace, notably recording a 7:20 min/mile split at the Ruxton section, elevating quickly from a start elevation of 6303 feet. Throughout the course, Teslin maintained a consistent pace, especially between areas like "Top of W's" and "Barr Camp," with pace hovering around the low 12 to 13 minute per mile range. The concluding three miles proved particularly strenuous given the high altitude, where split paces varied between 19:24 and 21:41 min/mile as Teslin ascended towards the peak. By the finish, Teslin secured the 19th spot in the O20-24 division and 107th in gender overall. The elevation challenge from 12689 feet to the summit at 14061 feet showed some fatigue as pace slightly decreased, which is a crucial area to refine for future high-altitude races.
