Consistent Performance at High Altitude Theo Hubanks completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an overall time of 3:36:26, averaging a pace of 16:12 per mile over the 13.36-mile course. Starting strong from the outset, Theo maintained competitive placements throughout the race, finishing 6th in his O16-19 age division among his peers. During the early splits, Theo was placed 3rd within his division as he quickly ascended from 6,303 feet to 6,649 feet at Hydro Street with a split pace of 9:15. In the final miles above the treeline, Theo climbed to an elevation of 14,061 feet. Although the pace adjusted with increased altitude, finishing times at the last three checkpoints, such as 23:13 per mile leading to the finish, indicated a consistent effort despite challenging conditions. Future focus on pacing in the high-altitude segments could enhance endurance across the steepest parts of the course. Overall, Theo's performance demonstrated resilience and strength against both distance and elevation.
