Impressive Pace Improvement at Pikes Peak Jaime Easchief from Santa Fe, NM, tackled the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with a commendable performance, completing the 13.36-mile climb in 5:14:17. This achievement marks a significant improvement from her previous year's time of 6:12:17, showcasing a reduction of nearly an hour. Her average pace improved from 27:51 min/mile in 2024 to 23:31 min/mile in 2025. Even with an elevation gain to 14061 feet and extremely challenging last three miles above the tree line, Jaime managed a strong finish, placing 51st in her division (F45-49) out of 2049 total participants. Jaime displayed strong determination throughout the race. She started with an energetic pace at Ruxton (11:32 min/mile) and maintained a consistent clip until facing altitude challenges closer to the finish. Notably, her standing improved significantly during the race, reflecting her ability to strategically pace herself—a definite strength to build upon in future runs. Focusing on the consistency of splits in high-altitude sections could enhance performance further.
