Consistent Middle-Packer with a Steady Pace at High Altitude Brad Gaunt completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 5:44:17, covering a distance of 13.36 miles. He maintained an elapsed pace of 25:46 minutes per mile. This performance placed him 1343rd out of 2049 overall participants and 879th in the male category. In his age division, O55-59, Brad secured the 51st position. Starting strong, Brad was initially 256th overall and 9th in his division but settled into a more consistent middle pack position as the race progressed. Notable observations include maintaining a steady pace on steep inclines and high-altitude areas above the tree line. Significant milestones were the Top of W's at 3.2 miles, where his position shifted to 1443rd overall, and Barr Camp at 7.91 miles, where he found himself in 1455th position. While his pace slowed considerably in the challenging final miles, Brad's race pace remained steady. Focusing on shorter interval paces in future training could enhance endurance for the final leg of the race.
