Steady Progress on Pikes Peak Ascent Derek Lincoln completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 5:33:03 over a distance of 13.36 miles, resulting in an average pace of 24:55 per mile. Among 2049 participants, he secured an overall place of 1257, ranking 845 in the overall gender category, and 84th in the Male 50-54 division. Starting strong at Ruxton, Derek maintained impressive momentum with early split paces under 13 minutes per mile, as seen at Hydro Street. Derek showed remarkable perseverance in the race's latter half, conquering significant elevation changes. A challenging segment occurred between the 10.29-mile mark at A-Frame, elevating from 11934 feet to 14061 feet at the finish. Despite split paces slowing beyond Bottomless Pit, Derek persisted admirably to finish strong at high altitudes. To enhance future performances, focusing on consistent pacing, particularly in those high-altitude segments, could prove beneficial.
