Steady Climb with Strong Middle Segment Griffin Ganz from Fort Collins, CO, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 2:54:07. He maintained a steady overall pace of 13:02 min/mile across the 13.36-mile course, which features a starting elevation of 6,303 feet and climbs to a finish at 14,061 feet. Griffin's performance was notable, placing him 9th in his division (O25-29) and 35th in the gender category among 2,049 participants. Impressively, he gained several positions early, moving from 63rd to 27th overall by the 7.91-mile mark at Barr Camp. Griffin displayed strength in the race's middle sections. From Ruxton (0.43 miles) to the Top of W's (3.2 miles), he consistently improved his standing, moving up to 24th by the 6.05-mile mark at 7.8 Summit. However, the final climb showed an opportunity for maintaining pace, as indicated by the pace increase in the last miles from "1 Mile To Go" to the finish. Continuing to hone skills in high altitude endurance can enhance performance in future races.
