Strong Mid-Race Consistency with a Need for Endurance Focus Relay Sheina M Stimpson's Team exhibited a performance highlighted by consistent pacing during the middle segments of the race. Initial paces showed an impressive progression from 9:45 min/mile to a quicker 6:53 min/mile by the fifth mile, propelling the team to 8th place overall and 6th in gender category by the time they reached five miles. Notably, miles 6 through 10 maintained a strong pace around 8:00 to 8:08 min/mile, reflecting a good grasp of mid-race energy management. The team's strategic pace adjustments during this period enhanced their position to as high as 5th overall by mile 16. In the latter part of the marathon, a gradual slowdown was observed with the pace declining to 9:00 min/mile by the conclusion of the race. This resulted in an overall finish of 10th place. It may be beneficial to integrate more endurance training, specifically targeting the latter stages, to sustain the stronger middle-race rhythm throughout the entire event.
