Consistent Pacing But a Slight Slowdown Marcus Campbell showed strong pacing at the 2025 Ogden Marathon's 8 Mile event. Starting with an impressive 6:56 min/mile pace in the first mile, he secured the 10th place overall and 2nd in his division. His splits remained relatively consistent between miles 1 to 5, with the pace ranging narrowly from 7:05 to 7:10 min/mile. However, slight fatigue appeared to set in during miles 6 to 8 with paces slowing to around 7:37 and 8:07 min/mile, respectively. Despite this minor slowdown and finishing 5th in the M35-39 division, Marcus maintained a solid overall pace of 7:19 min/mile in a field of 827 runners. One element to consider for future races could be maintaining pacing strategy over longer distances. A gradual endurance build-up may help avoid late-race slowdown. Overall, Marcus demonstrated consistent pacing early in the race and strong competitive spirit.
