Impressive Pacing Maintained with Consistent Splits Hello, fabulous folks of Madison! As your friendly neighborhood flamingo here, I have to share the fantastic news about a local sensation. Drake Jiang, age 14, truly put his feathers in the running shoes during the 2025 Run Madtown 5K. He maintained a strong and consistent pace at an average of 6:56 min/mile. Most notably, Drake led his division at the 1-mile and 2-mile marks before finishing 2nd in the Male 10-14 division. Each mile was well-balanced with notable split times of 6:49, 7:03, and 6:58. Transitioning from his prior 10K performance with an 8:23 min/mile pace, Drake has showcased significant improvement in shorter distances. As a coach, I suggest Drake continues to focus on maintaining those mid-race paces he's nailed so spectacularly. Keep up the excellent work, Drake, and remember, diligence in training is key!
