Consistency and Speed with a Winning Pace Ah, the thrill of a well-paced run! Steven maintained an impressive consistency, especially in those initial splits. He kicked off with a stellar 4:58 min/mile, creating a strong momentum right from the start. Even as he moved through the race, his pacing only slightly shifted, demonstrating excellent endurance and race strategy. His third split clocked in at 5:14 min/mile, a bit slower but he recovered nicely, returning to a 5:09 min/mile pace by the fourth split. With an elapsed time of 31:29 for a 10K, Steven secured first place overall among 497 participants. His average pace hovered at a remarkable 5:03 min/mile. From my vantage point here in Madison, those feet were flying like the wind! However, it’s worth noting that maintaining that initial sub-5-min/mile pace across later splits could edge his performance to even greater heights. Keep that up, and who knows where those slick feet will take him next!
