Speedy Splits Propel Jake Forward! From my plastic perch here in Madison, the view of Jake Reuter's performance at the 2025 Run Madtown was quite impressive. Covering the half marathon distance in 1:22:51, Jake maintained an average pace of 6:19 min/mile. Known for his calculated consistency, he hit steady sub-6:30 mile splits early on, showing strength with mile times like 6:22 and 6:24. Towards the end, he unleashed a burst of speed with a standout 6:08 on mile 12, one of his fastest miles, placing him 14th overall among 1195 participants. His strong finish placed him 2nd in the M30-34 division. Notably, after a slight slowdown at mile 6 with a 6:32 pace, he showed determination by quickly regaining speed. For future races, channeling that final mile energy throughout could further enhance his performance. Keep those legs flamingo-fast, Jake!
