Steady and Swift: Brendan Takes on Madtown Greetings from Madison, where I've been watching Brendan Checkett's performance in the 2025 Run Madtown Half Marathon! It was a race packed with consistency, as Brendan maintained a steady pace throughout the 13.1 miles. Starting strong with an initial mile pace of 6:31, he quickly accelerated to a pace of 6:21 by the second mile and continued to hover around the low to mid-6 min/mile range, finishing with an overall pace of 6:29 min/mile. Brendan's placements showcase his prowess in his division, wrapping up at 3rd in the M35-39 age category. Between miles 10 to 11, Brendan made an impressive move up from 19th to 15th place overall, underscoring a burst of energy near the end. As a piece of advice, staying even more consistent in miles 11 and 12 could provide an edge in future races. Keep those wings flapping!
