Consistent Effort with Opportunities for Strategic Gains Radio Cyclist, representing the 50-54 age division, maintained a consistent performance over the 26.2-mile distance at the 2025 Mountains 2 Beach Marathon. The initial splits reflect a stable pace, beginning with the first two miles at 14:31 min/mile. While maintaining a generally consistent pace in the first half, they exhibited a slight deceleration, reaching 59:18 at the 4-mile mark, with splits slightly above goal pace. The second half of the race showed resilience, but indicated scope for pacing strategy improvements. Notably, the 14th and 15th miles were the slowest, coming in at 17:15 min/mile and 17:55 min/mile. Despite a slowing pace towards the latter miles, Radio completed the marathon in 7:21:17 with an average pace of 16:50 min/mile. Evaluating pacing strategies and maintaining speed consistency in the later miles could be beneficial for future races.
