Consistent Start, Mid-Race Challenge Lead Cyclist started the marathon strong, maintaining a consistent sub-6-minute pace through the initial miles. Notably, mile 3 displayed an impressive split pace of 5:41. As the race progressed, the pace remained solid, with several miles in the 6:00-minute range, indicating a robust middle-section performance. At mile 12, a notable milestone was achieved with a 5:42 split, converging back to the earlier swift pace. The final segments of the marathon presented challenges, as evidenced by a gradual pace increase. The last six miles showed a split pace range from 6:46 to 7:02, culminating in a final elapsed time of 2:47:30. Compared to prior marathon performances, this race was slower than a previous time of 2:32:22. However, it still demonstrates resilience and completion of the marathon distance. Focusing on maintaining more consistent pacing towards the end could benefit future races.
