Consistent Pacing with a Strong Finish Chris Surro, racing in the 2025 Mountains 2 Beach Marathon, exhibited impressive consistency and determination. Chris, 32, from Culver City, CA, maintained an average pace of 7:02 min/mile over the 26.2-mile course, finishing in 3:04:27. Across the field of 2,277 participants, he placed 174th overall and 157th among male competitors. In his division, M30-34, Chris secured the 43rd position, showing competitive edge within his age group. A noticeable strength in Chris's performance was his ability to improve and maintain speed through most of the race, starting with a 7:55 min/mile pace in the initial miles and consistently speeding up to a peak with several splits in the mid-6:40s per mile. However, the last few miles saw a slight slow down, which can be further polished to enhance race finishes. The Pasadena Pacers runner demonstrated strong endurance and resilience throughout the race.
