With splits mostly ranging between 6:21 and 6:41 minutes per mile, he showed remarkable steadiness. His overall elapsed time was 1:25:49, achieving an average pace of 6:33 per mile for the 13.1-mile event. Gibson's meticulous pacing strategy allowed him to excel, placing 1st in his M55-59 division. Starting with a brisk first mile of 6:23, he navigated minor pace variations, fastest at 6:21 and slowest at 6:50. Notably, he improved his overall position from 25th to 21st by the 11th mile.
