Strong Finish and Improved Momentum Steven Murello from Oceanside, CA, delivered a solid performance at the 2025 Vacation Races | Joshua Tree Half Marathon. He finished with an impressive overall time of 1:58:49 and a pace of 9:04 min/mile. Throughout the race, Steven's progress was marked by steady improvement. Notably, at the 5-mile mark, he secured the 4th position in the M40-44 division, and by mile 13, maintained a strong finish maintaining the 4th position, indicating excellent endurance and pacing strategy. Analyzing his splits, Steven demonstrated consistent improvement in his pace, dropping from a 10:05 min/mile at the first mile to an 8:03 min/mile at the finish. His ability to quicken his pace in the latter half of the race is commendable. Tracking his pacing strategy, an earlier acceleration could further enhance his performance in future races. Nonetheless, his result placed him high in the rankings, notably 82nd in the male category out of 1330 participants, showcasing his competitive edge.
