Strong Start with Improving Pace in Later Miles Erick Arias, at 17 years old from San Diego, California, completed the 2025 Vacation Races | Joshua Tree Half Marathon with a total time of 2:28:14, maintaining an average pace of 11:18 min/mile. Early in the race, Erick demonstrated a strong start, securing the 3rd position in his division for the first mile at a pace of 10:19 min/mile. Notably, he faced some challenges maintaining pace between miles 2 to 4, where his pace dipped to 19:55 min/mile, influencing his overall rank. Despite the slow segment, Erick showed commendable recovery and improved pace in the latter stages, recording sub-10 minute mile splits in miles 5, 6, and 8, with an impressive split of 8:38 in mile 8.
