Consistent Mid-Race Pacing Marks Improvement Malinda Lenzo from Van Nuys, CA, completed the 2025 Vacation Races | Joshua Tree Half Marathon in 3:21:37 with an overall pace of 15:23 min/mile. Malinda consistently improved her performance mid-race, with notable transitions between miles 3 to 5. She started with a split pace of 15:56 min/mile at mile 1, reducing it to 15:04 min/mile by mile 3 and reaching an impressive 14:20 min/mile by mile 5. Her overall placement was 942 out of 1330, and she secured the 56th position in the F45-49 division. The initial pace slightly exceeded the final pace, but a strong recovery phase was evident from mile 3 onwards. However, she experienced a slower tempo during the final two miles, with a split pace of 16:06 min/mile at mile 13. For future races, focusing on maintaining the earlier momentum in the latter stages could improve overall time. Excellent effort in pacing consistency and endurance management by Malinda.
