Solid 10K Performance with a Strong Finish Hayden Lightfoot delivered a steady performance at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K, completing the race in 40:42 with an average pace of 6:33 min/mile. Despite a slower start, Hayden showcased his endurance and strategy by progressively improving his placement, finishing 17th overall, 17th among males, and impressively 3rd in the M30-34 division out of 2010 participants. Hayden maintained an even effort early on, with splits gradually improving and his most significant gains evident in the latter half of the race. Reviewing individual mile splits, Hayden's ability to accelerate in the final miles was notable, especially the last two miles which were among his fastest at 6:20 and 6:17 per mile, respectively. Maintaining this strong closing speed could potentially help in future racing scenarios. Overall, Haydens pacing and a strong divisional placement demonstrate his consistent training and competitive edge. Fine-tuning race pacing to capitalize on his finishing strength could further enhance performance.
