Consistent Splits and Strong Finish Ramiro Alvarez represented the Houston Colosseum Runners with commendable performance at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K. Starting strong, his first mile split was 5:44 min/mile, maintaining top overall placement. He demonstrated consistent pacing, with the second mile at 5:48 min/mile. By mile three, despite a slightly slower pace at 6:09 min/mile, he impressively secured first in the M25-29 division at that point. His overall race time was 38:29, with an average pace of 6:12 min/mile, finishing third in his division and maintaining composure throughout the course. From a coaching perspective, minor slowdowns occurred in miles 4 to 6 averaging around 6:32 min/mile. Analyzing the mid-race pace changes might reveal opportunities to maintain momentum in future races. With strong splits and solid division placement, Ramiro's performance is something to build on.
