Consistent Splits with a Strong Finish Alexis Hernandez exhibited consistent pacing in the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K, highlighting his efficiency and endurance throughout. Starting with a 7:27 min/mile pace in the first mile, Alexis maintained a closely-knit pacing pattern with all splits ranging from 7:27 to 8:00 min/mile. His overall elapsed time was 47:22 over a 6.2-mile distance, maintaining an average pace of 7:38 min/mile. Notably, Alexis finished 7th in the M20-24 division out of many runners, which is commendable given the field size. He fell slightly behind in the second and third miles but regained momentum in the fifth mile with a swift 7:26 min/mile split, demonstrating a solid performance under pressure. Alexis has potential to improve his mid-race pacing and could benefit from targeted sessions to focus on sustaining speed. Overall, great consistency and a commendable showing!
