Steadfast Pace Secures Top Division Finish Hugo Sanchez improved notably at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon, completing the race in 1:16:46, with an impressive average pace of 5:51 min/mile over the 13.1 miles. His pacing was consistent throughout the race, peaking at a split time of 5:43 in mile 13. Notably, Hugo moved into first place in the M35-39 division at mile 9 and maintained this position, ultimately finishing first in his division and 14th overall out of 4,907 participants. Compared to his previous half marathon in 2024 at the same event, Hugo shaved off nearly three minutes from his time, previously completing it in 1:19:24 at a 6:03 min/mile pace.
