Consistent Early Pace with Opportunities for Late Race Gains Jerry Wang participated in the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K, completing the 13.1-mile race in 2:16:55. Jerry demonstrated a strong start with consistent 10:00 min/mile splits for the first two miles. During the race, his pacing slightly varied, with an early strong performance at mile 4 with a 9:17 min/mile split and later finishing mile 11 at 10:54 min/mile. His overall pace settled at 10:27 min/mile, showing a determination to maintain competitive form. Notably, Jerry commenced the race positioned at 154th in his M40-44 division. The race saw fluctuations, concluding at 175th in the division out of 324. A significant mid-race milestone occurred between miles 4 and 5, where his position improved by 23 spots. For future races, maintaining stronger pacing in the latter miles could improve overall placement, especially after mile 10 where his pace slightly decelerated.
