Steady Improvement and Strong Finish Denise Sadberry demonstrated consistent pacing throughout the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon. She completed the race in 1:59:07, maintaining an impressive average pace of 9:05 min/mile over 13.1 miles. Notably, her performance saw a significant uptick in her division, placing 10th in the F55-59 category, an improvement from 15th place in the previous year's race. Her tactical approach was evident, as she increased her pace in the second half, especially over the final miles, where she consistently clocked sub-9:00 min/mile splits from mile 9 onwards. While Denise's overall place was 1390 out of 4907 participants, her strategic pacing helped her climb through the ranks in her gender and division. Supported by the Katy Area Running Club, she showed a clear commitment to refining her strategy and performance. Continued focus on this well-executed negative split strategy could further enhance her results in future races.
