Gradual Stride Improvement Towards Finish Thuyvan Hoang participated in the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K, completing the 10K event with a total time of 1:33:13, averaging a pace of 15:02 min/mile. Starting strong with a 12:54 min/mile for the first mile, Thuyvan experienced some slowdown in the 2nd and 3rd miles, clocking in at 15:26 min/mile and 16:08 min/mile, respectively. However, a notable improvement came in the final mile with a split pace of 13:51 min/mile. Thuyvan's performance ranked her 815th in her gender and 160th in her division. Participation in this event shows consistency in finishing the race. The pacing was steady, demonstrating endurance, though there was a slight decline in the middle miles. Focusing on maintaining a more consistent pace throughout will be beneficial in future races. Working on pacing strategies and incorporating interval training in preparation may further enhance performance. As part of the UTHealth Houston (Official) team, Thuyvan showed noteworthy dedication.
