Consistent Improvement in Every Mile Evelina Liu demonstrated noticeable improvements in her performance at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K compared to last year. Her final time of 1:22:10 was a significant improvement over her previous time of 1:27:31, reducing her overall pace from 14:07 min/mile to 13:15 min/mile. This marked progress in her running capabilities and positioned her 36th in the F55-59 division, with a rise from 38th place in 2024. Analyzing her pace throughout the race reveals a gradual deceleration, with initial mile pacing at 11:58 min/mile. The subsequent splits showed a slight slowdown but remained steady, with the slowest split at 14:19 min/mile in the fourth mile. A consistent approach to pacing could be beneficial. Working on maintaining early mile momentum may enhance her subsequent races even further. Overall, Evelina's determination and improvement highlight her dedication with the support of the Fat Bao Running Club.
