Steady Progress with a Consistent Pace Keller Shepherd maintained an impressive and consistent pace throughout the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon. Starting off at a 9:05 min/mile pace, he demonstrated strong pacing by consistently staying within a few seconds of his initial pace for most of the race. His performance between miles 5 and 7 was particularly stable, averaging around 9:00 min/mile. Despite a slight slowdown in the final mile with a split time of 10:33, Keller completed the race with an overall time of 2:00:50, recording an average pace of 9:13 min/mile for the entire 13.1-mile course. As part of the M25-29 division, Keller ranked 222nd, showcasing a strong effort among his peers. Next time, focusing on maintaining energy for a more consistent finish might help shave off those extra seconds in the closing mile. Nonetheless, his performance was solid, and he displayed a commendable ability to maintain a steady pace across the challenging distance.
