Consistent Progression in Pace and Placement Achieved Brenda Currie-Sims maintained a strong and consistent performance throughout the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K. Starting with a 11:04 pace for the first mile, Brenda gradually improved her pace to 10:15 by the second mile, and further to 9:52 by the third mile. Her overall pace settled around 10:26 min/mile, completing the 10K that totaled an impressive 6.2 miles. This consistency shows a well-managed effort throughout the race. Overall placements improved significantly from 753rd at the end of the first mile to 593rd by the finish. Her gender placement climbed from 374th to 252nd, and she secured a top ten finish in her division, moving up from 16th to 9th by the end of the race. For future races, consider pushing a bit more on the fourth and fifth miles to slightly improve endurance and maintain the burst from the initial miles. Keep up the excellent work with pacing and strategic placement gains!
