Impressive Negative Splits and a Strong Finish Mike Halde delivered a commendable performance at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon, improving upon his previous year's time. Maintaining a steady increase in pace, his splits reveal a pattern of negative splits, with each mile getting progressively faster. Starting with a 7:03 min/mile pace, he remarkably sped up by over 30 seconds by the final mile. The 13th mile was particularly impressive, clocking in at 6:27 min/mile, showcasing his ability to finish strong. Overall, Mike completed the 13.1-mile race in 1:29:25, with an average pace of 6:49 min/mile. This performance earned him 7th place in the M45-49 division, improving from 15th place the previous year, alongside an advancement in overall and gender-specific placements.
