Steady Progress and Consistent Pacing Joanna Castaneda improved her previous half marathon time by over 18 minutes, finishing the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon in 2:12:42 compared to her 2024 result of 2:30:57. Consistently maintaining around a 10:07 min/mile pace, Joanna demonstrated an impressive consistency in her splits, with her fastest split at mile 13 with a time of 9:58. She placed 130th in her division and 673rd in her gender category out of 4907 participants. Her split times between the 9th and 13th miles showed a positive trend as she regained positions, moving from 2252 to 2103 in overall rankings. The most room for improvement might be found when examining her slower splits, such as the 10:27 on mile 6 and 10:25 on mile 12.
