Consistent Performance with a Strong Finish Justin Martinez participated in the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K, completing the race in 52:51 with an average pace of 8:31 min/mile. One key highlight of his performance was a strong fifth mile, clocking in at 7:48. He maintained a consistent pacing strategy, notable given his final placement of 12th in the M20-24 division out of a competitive field. His splits reveal a gradual deceleration in miles 2 through 4, before picking up the pace again effectively in the fifth mile. Starting strong with an 8:26 mile, dropping back slightly in mid-race, and recovering well towards the end shows an ability to strategize and adapt during the race. For future races, focusing on maintaining that strong pace throughout could enhance overall performance. Participation with the Md Anderson Runners team may also provide further training and support to aid in these efforts.
