Consistent Improvement Throughout the Race Jooyeon demonstrated a commendable performance in the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K. Starting with a solid first mile at a 9:47 pace, she maintained consistency throughout the race. Her splits improved significantly in the latter half, with a notable increase in speed during the fifth mile, recording her fastest split at 9:11. This steady pacing strategy helped her move up in the standings, finishing 7th in her division with an overall time of 59:27 and an average pace of 9:35 min/mile. Her progress within the race is evident, as she improved her division placement from 10th to 6th by the finish. Analyzing the progression, focusing on maintaining speed earlier could yield further gains in competitiveness. As a member of the SWCOEH EOHS TEPHI team, there is promising potential for Jooyeon to continue refining her strategy and fine-tune her pacing consistency for upcoming events.
