Consistent Acceleration and Strong Finish Miles Cox delivered an impressive performance at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon. Starting strong with the first mile at a pace of 5:34, he showed remarkable ability to accelerate. As the race progressed, his splits were increasingly faster, culminating in a 4:58 pace at mile 12. Maintaining an overall pace of 5:18 per mile over the entire 13.1 miles, he demonstrated consistent pacing and exceptional endurance. Cox placed 2nd overall out of 4907 participants, showcasing strategic racing between miles 8 and 13, where he consistently held his position. Notably, from mile 4 onwards, he managed to climb into and maintain the top three places. A potential area for improvement could be a quicker start in the initial miles, as significant gains were evident in the latter stages. Overall, his strong finish and steady pacing throughout the race were commendable.
