Consistent Pace with Room for Grit in Final Stages Tomas Berumen from Manvel, TX, showcased remarkable consistency throughout the half marathon, clocking in at 1:19:18. Tomas maintained a strong start, opening with a fast mile at a 5:38 min/mile pace. This initial effort helped him hold a strong position within his division and overall standings. Over the next miles, there was a slight slowing trend, yet he maintained a sub-6:00 pace until the eighth mile, where he began pacing above 6:00 min/mile. His consistency is commendable, especially maintaining his division rank around the 5th to 7th position across most splits. As a member of the Houston sMiles team, Tomas finished 26th overall and 7th within his division of M25-29 among 4,907 participants. Effective pacing might be the area to refine, particularly in the second half where pace dropped slightly above his early miles.
