Consistent Effort with Strategic Pacing Cindy Nguyen participated in the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K. Her initial mile split was 10:21, earning her 44th in her division (F25-29). A noticeable decline in pace started at mile 2, with splits stretching to 14:05 by mile 3. Despite increasing her total elapsed pace to 12:38 min/mile, Cindy still managed a steady performance for the remainder of the race. Cindy finished the 10K in 1:18:24. Throughout the race, her ranking progressed from 546th to 1092nd overall as she advanced through each split. Her division placement concluded at 114th out of a total of 588 female participants. Evaluating the split times, segment pacing could be optimized by maintaining a more uniform pace throughout. Focusing on mile 2 and 3 could enhance consistency in future races.
